Step 1: Wander around the house straightening

Step 2: Think of three errands that really sound like more fun

Step 3: Run the three errands (realize that they really weren't all that fun, after all an errand is an errand!)

Step 4: Play Guitar Hero!

Step 5: Feed kids lunch

Step 6: Play Guitar Hero!

Step 7: Get on the computer to start homework - check e-mail instead

Step 8: Another errand

Step 9: Fold laundry

Step 10: Get on computer to start homework - check blogs

Step 11: Type post on blog about how to avoid homework

Step 12: START HOMEWORK!!!!!!

Sometimes I am so proud of my kids!

My daughter has a group of friends that love to play hide and seek in the cul-de-sac. She called her "friend" - the one she happens to have a crush on (do you remember your first 10 year old crush?) - to see if he could come over and play.

He called back. I answered the phone since my daughter was out playing hide and seek (which also makes me happy, by the way, it is February and they are outside playing!).

While asking his dad if he could play at my house I over heard him tell his dad, "She is a REALLY nice girl dad, trust me!"

I have raised a really nice girl - life just doesn't get much better than that!

Health Appreciation Day!

I guess it takes a good bout with the flu and walking pneumonia to really make you grateful for good health! Not only that but I apparently decided to share the dreaded virus with my DD and DH! My house was a germy mess last week.

But that brings me to the good news - I feel SO much better! I can't belieive how great it feels to NOT have a fever!! I am grateful for my health and a body that can manage disease!!!! THANK YOU immune system!

I guess my celebration shows you how freaking horrible the flu was!!!! Wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!! (Okay maybe only one person if I am being honest!!! LOL)

Cough, Cough!

I got a flu shot! I swear I got a flu shot . . . so why do I have the FLU! My body aches, my chest is full of crap and I may cough up a lung shortly!! Fever and chills, fever and chills . . .

I want my mommy!!!

A little Orthodontist anyone?

Well - it is official! My family has now joined the ranks of the millions of Americans paying through the nose to an orthodontist! I get that it is a choice, I get that I should be grateful we have the ability to pay for "cosmetic" work to be done on our DD, I get that it requires lots of education to become an orthodontist . . .

I still can't believe how much it costs!

And on top of that - my DD thinks she looks funny with her new retainers . . . isn't it hard enough to be a 5th grade girl without all of a sudden having a huge piece of plastic in your mouth that makes you sound like you have a horrific tongue thrust!

Okay - enough whining . . . I am off to be supportive and tell her how cool it is that her retainers glow in the dark!!!!

Let me wax political for a moment . . . .

Okay - so it is "super Tuesday" here in America. For some people it is just Tuesday - but I am all about SUPER Tuesday! I can't wait for the change that we so desperately need! I need to believe that America can be great again and that the office of President really does have checks and balances in place to keep the balance of power from getting out of hand!

My toes and fingers are crossed - I can't wait!

Perfect Superbowl Party!

Every year my neighbor has a Superbowl party! It is your typical pigs-in-a-blanket, chips and salsa, kind of Superbowl party. This year was no exception and considering he is a New York native - my neighbor went all out for his beloved Giants. What a spread. I think I enjoyed the Superbowl more today than I ever have before. And here is my secrect . . .

I went to another nighbors and we scrapbooked for four hours! What a perfect day!

Go Giants!! LOL
